Custom Features and Pricing

What better way to save and cherish your memories of a loved one than to have a family heirloom created such as a pillow, wall hanging or lap quilt. We use saved clothing, t-shirts, photographs, hand or machine embroidery, and custom pieced patchwork quilt fabric to create a unique and lasting treasure.

Because of the custom nature of each piece, we do not have a flat pricing structure. Each job is estimated based on materials provided, time, and cost of supplies.

Memory pillows start at $85 and are made from a premium 14" or larger pillow form. A custom-made slip cover is created from one large or several smaller photographs, saved clothing, buttons, lace, hankies, and high-quality 100% cotton quilting fabric in your choice of colors. The pillow edge can be piped, ruffled, straight or a flange. The memory part of the pillow is made like a slip cover, which can be removed and gently laundered if needed.

Wall hanging-sized quilts are popular and usually start at $200.

We make usually make our lap-sized throw quilts oversized for comfort (up to 60" x 80") and each one is custom-designed to suit the clothing supplied. Lap quilts generally start at $475.

Details

Memory quilts can incorporate many types of saved clothing such as pants, shorts, suits, dresses, blouses, hankies, ties, t-shirts, sweats and even items such as buttons, lace and trims. Premium 100% cotton quilting fabric in a coordinating color scheme completes the quilt.

Your memory lap quilt will be reversible because we choose a print backing fabric to complement the front of the quilt. Creative edge-to-edge quilting on our longarm machine is decorative as well as strong and durable.

Items with photographs are custom quilted to frame and complement the pictures.

Names and dates can be added in a variety of ways, such as hand or machine embroidery, or printed from the computer onto specially treated fabric which is then sewn into the quilt.

How to Begin

The process starts with a consultation appointment where we take a look at the items you want to incorporate in the pillow or quilt, and come up with a rough design, a detailed work order/estimate, as well as target delivery date. Turnaround time depends on our current backlog of orders. Shipping via FedEx Ground or Overnight is available. A small deposit is required at the time of order.
