Postmark Naperville: An A-Z History

(text from dust jacket inside flaps)
History is story.

To know a town you must know its stories. Within these pages you will discover the stories of how Naperville, Illinois came to be.

If you are a resident, you are part of Naperville's living history. If you are a visitor, you are stepping into Naperville's history. And if you are reading about the town from afar, you will vicariously experience the tale of a little town that could and did. From any vantage point there's no place quite like it.

About the Authors

Recently retired from a combined 60 years in education, authors Marcia Mackenbrock and Sharon Weber said to each other one day, "Why don't we write a book?"

And so they did.

Humored along by their supportive spouses in Glen Ellyn and Naperville, IL, they appropriated Marcia's sewing studio, unfolded their lucky card table and set to work.

In a year's time, working knee to knee, they explored the town, talked to its people and plumbed its archives. Exchanging the free time of retirement for national post card shows, stamp shops and click art searches, they both agreed they would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Be sure to see the team's second book Dig It! Privy Artifacts A-Z published in June 2006.
